This animation explains the therapeutic concept of “passengers on the bus”, in which you are a bus driver and your “passengers” are various thoughts, emotions, and sensations. Some of these passengers actively pressure you to drive in different directions, which can make reaching your goals difficult if you listen to them. However, if you learn some Acceptance and Commitment therapy techniques, such as accepting the passengers and being willing to go towards your goals regardless of what your passengers say, you can reach your destination easier.
This video lives in several mental health apps developed by the Veterans Administration.
